:laugh: I know alot of people will be putting alot into who is the winner of this game...but teams and fans of the 10th know that come March there are several teams in the 10th that could be crowned the winners.

 

In the game Saturday I am just looking for a good matchup between two teams that could go on to the state and represent the 10th well.:thumb:

For Mason to win on Clark's home court, they need to do several things. Deny the ball and position to Jones on the inside. Hope Jones eats some bad food in Louisville the day before. Use all the fouls available if necessary from Pawsat, Stahl and maybe even Tolle. Tristian is a great inside player, but his foul shooting is suspect. It will be interesting to see if Mason chooses to use Darius to defend Jones.

 

I don't know if Mason has any one person (few teams do) that can match up with Knowles. The Royals' fastest player, Tyreese Scott, is outsized. Mason will have to force turnovers for 32 minutes instead of playing in spurts. Setty and Middleton and maybe even Scott will have to hit 40+% from distance as a group, forcing Clark to defend more than one perimeter player.

 

Clark will need solid contributions from others besides just Jones and Knowles - like Rogers. They will need to take care of the ball against Mason's pressure. Neither Knowles not Jones can afford to sit with foul trouble for extended time; same for Miller for the Royals.

 

It will be very interesting to see if either team pulls out all the stops to win the game; or if they will not show all their cards (no pun intended) until the regional tourney.

I think Pawsat will guard Jones with a little double down help and Miller will guard Knowles.

The boys basketball games scheduled for February 9th with Mason County has been changed to Saturday, February 10th. We will have games all day as follows:

 

February 10, 2007

 

Boys JV will start at 1:30 vs Mason County

 

Boys Varsity will play at 3:00 vs Mason County

 

They will be followed by the Girls playing against Bishop Brossart

 

Girls Freshmen will play at 5:00pm

 

Girls JV will play at 6:30pm

 

Girls Varsity will play at 8:00pm

GRC has played in just as many big game environments if not more than Mason has this year so I don't think you can count on them to self destruct.

GRC should win at home but who can guard Miller and Middleton? GRC's schedule is light if you take out fifth third classic.
