What's the regional record? Not just talking about the girls, the boys were also included in the post.

Since this is the girls forum i thought you were talking bout the girls Sorry for the misunderstanding as far as the Region record goes since 1998 the Lady Bears are 45-83 against 10th region teams and they are 16-29 against 39th district teams. With an overall record of 80-120 since 1998 threw last season. Doesn't sound like they have been as extremly sucessful as some people have said. IMO

Maybe softball and volleyball have taken over as THE main girls sports programs at BC. There has been quick success there to some degree. Maybe the practices, the running, etc. are harder for basketball and the girls have taken up something that is more on a fun,not as serious level. I may be wrong, but I don't think suicide drills are a part of softball or volleyball practices:D

I dont think suicides are part of any practice i think they would be part of conditioning as far as sports for fun i would think any sport you choose to play you would take seriously afterall no one is forcing the kids to play a particular sport they chose to do that and if I wasnt going to take the sport seriously and give 100% then i probably would choose not to play. Because i would think if a kid knows they are doing something for fun then it would not matter how i perform how the team does or how much effort i put forth as long as im having fun. On the other hand you can take things seriouly and still have fun doing it .

Nice post Countryboy7

Go Hard or Go Home!

All programs need to be build from the top to bottom. Just out of curiosity, what is the record over the past 2-3 years at the middle school level? does it seem they are doing fundmamentals? Does Bracken have a 5th and 6th grade team? Coach K, can you find out those two questions for me?

Who is to blame for the lack of success? I know one thing, as a fan, it is easier to coach in the crowd and real easy to lay blame on someone else as well!! Parents blame coaches, never the girls or boys and coaches blame the program the girls or boys just came from. I think parents and coaches need to take blame for lack of success or in the parents case (give a little blame to the player).

As I read all of this on here go back and forth, it seems to me noone has enough to do!

I really think we need to lay off the athletes and just let them play and have fun. Poor kids have enough pressure on them in today's world. I sure hope they dont read the stuff posted on here!

We do have 5th and 6th grade teams that parents coach.. They are not affiliated with the school however, so staff members help with the coaching... This years Jr High team went to the finals in the conference tournament and won it last year... This years Freshman team is 23-4 in the last couple of years... and won the Jr. High Tourney last season.. I only coached middle school for a couple of years, but we were always successful 7th and 8th grade.

Polar Bear Fan... that was a very good post and I believe a lot of it to be true!

Nicely stated !!!

There is no doubt that Coach Patrick Kelsch is ready for a head job somewhere, he is young, knowledgeable, and full of energy and that carries over to the players. Kids that see that kind of energy do not want to be slow on the floor. Coach Kelsch is a basketball junkie, you never know where he will pop up and watch a game. Comes from a great basketball bloodline family, has paid his dues in the middle school and high school ranks and its only a matter of time before he sufaces at some school as their top guy.

Not even a chance,Probably when the world comes to an end.

I wouldn't be so sure of that my guess is that he will have his own program someday and will be very sucessful. You must not know him or his ability very well your the only one in here throwing disrespect towards him!

It seems like you are the only one to think this, so I will pay no attention to you. To each his own.. I will be a head varsity basketball coach before you are.

Don't hate the player, hate the game!

Thats kinda harsh if you like him or not.
