Lloyd 40 Conner 27

Featured Replies

Final per the update thread.

Juggernauts keep rolling.

About what I expected.

Personal foul penalties took Conner out of a scoring opportunity at the end of the 1st half. It also made them start deep on their side of the field in the first half.

I love my Cougars, but they just don’t have the players to compete this year. The game vs Boone County might end up being a battle in a few weeks.

Conner will crush Boone.

Congrats to Lloyd on the win. They have a solid team this year!

if Conner can play with more discipline and continue to improve on both sides of the ball week to week I think they still have an opportunity to finish runner up in their district and host a playoff game. Now, they would more than likely lose there first round playoff game because they just don't quite have enough "dudes" to compete but not having to travel in round one is always beneficial.

You also said they would beat Lloyd

I give Lloyd a C++ but atleast they took a test this week. They were sooo sooo close to blowing them out the way everyone said they should. That secondary cost them an A because it was very shaky, as I had said it would be. They got out physicalled in the secondary, is that a thing? Lloyd did adjust. With about 7-8 different DB's rotating trying to figure something out and I still don't know if their best option got a chance. That's crazy to think about. Something there is wierdly off and doesn't make sense. They definitely seen they have issues that still need corrected. Which is great they were able to overcome it and learned something about themselves which they weren't able to truely see in weeks 1-2. After the next 2 weeks Lloyd won't be tested in the air again until maybe round 2 of the playoffs. Good thing their eyes just got opened way up to see what they are dealing with there before it really cost them. It's not 7v7 anymore. Got to be able to play physical and tackle in the secondary too.

Lloyd went into clock management mode on offense when they needed to because the defense was getting torched through the air and on roll outs. They had no option but to start milking the clock or Evans probably could have commanded them to an easy 54 pts. That's good football and hats off too Lloyd coaches they did an excellent job of making sure they stayed in control from the opening drive and their kids were well prepared for a fight. They weren't going to lose the coaching battle like ¿someone? said they would. Sure seemed like they had a chip on their shoulder. When Lloyd looks at film they are definitely going to feel like they left some points off the board on a stalled drive or two that could have taken Conner's soul. First half, screen pass on 3rd and 1 for negative yards when Lloyds backs had done nothing but pick up positive yards all night?? That ate Niederman up pretty bad like he wanted to go choke out the OC because they had their foot on Conner's throat right there but had to punt and that let Conner have confidence and life. Lloyd's defense got tired but weren't lazy. They got to work on how to finish a team off but that was good work for them compared to what they had seen so far this year. They got a pulse check and showed they were alive. Their DB's make a play on 2 or 3 50/50 balls and that's a running clock game.

Lloyd's offense maintained drives from all over the field and really answered almost everything Conner's defense threw at them (except that 3rd and 1  ????). Lloyd's OC did call a heck of a game for 99.999% of it got to give due respect there. Lloyd ran the ball tough whenever they wanted to and Conner could not, at all. Lloyd is still undefeated in the trenches on both sides of the ball, what????? That weight room is paying off. Evans and Co. finally got to work with more than 40 yards of field and boy did they eat it up like a fat kid does cake. Evan's is poetic at distributing a football, my gosh. Barger is an alien sent down from outter space. He is equally as important on defense as he is offense. that's a heavy load on a sophomore. Same for Tomlinson. And junior Conrad carries a heavy load too on both sides as well. Loyd got to put up some real stats this game for the first time this year. Albeit no fault to them on that for it taking a couple weeks.

Conner made it a ball game but just too late with Lloyd leaving them hanging around. I said I knew they wouldn't just lay there and take it. Their QB is impressive and will win them some ball games down the road for sure. Without him it would really be ugly. They had guys that made plays when they had their chance and they looked like they belonged once they got going. They have some ball players but they have to figure something out on the O line. They could not run the ball on Lloyd one bit except when the QB scrambled from the pocket and improvised, but that's not enough. That's Conner's biggest issue is how can they get a run game going? They can sling it around but they can't be one dimensional and beat good teams. Couple penalties that were unlike a Rash coached team were very costly and super untimely. Rash knows how to handle that. Lloyd's kids showed great composure, again hats off to Lloyd's coaches that's a testament to them!

Good win for the Juggs considering it was basically their first real game. Not a terrible loss for the Cougs considering how close it was to the wheels falling off.

Lloyd's got some D1 athletes they are stepping on the field against next week that will play aggressive and chippy. If they thought chasing around  Montgomery for Conner was exhausting then they better get prepared for the kid Aiken has at QB. True dual threat QB that will be playing college football at some position. Aiken has dudes all over the field. Conner talked some smack? Wait until Lloyd has to hear what Aiken has to say about their mommy's.

Conner gets their first win of the season next week in fantastic fashion. They will have 0 issues with NCC if they bring it from the get go. They need to jump out on NCC and never look back. Grayson Montgomery will have a field day. Abernathy can shake someone in a phone booth but they got to get him atleast a slimmer of space. Lampkin is going to be solid for some years to come. Rash knows what he signed up for and will keep leaving his imprint on his team. It may not show up huge in the win column but it will leave long lasting results. I would like to see Rash run it back next year and bring his team to Erlanger. Wishful thinking.

Yeah. Yes. I did. So what, Lloyd keeps proving my words wrong. I wouldn't want it any other way. There could be worse things in life. Conner will beat Boone by 40 and that's facts.

Good to see Conner get some things going against a good team. That 27 points is a big step forward for Conner. The offense has to help the defense out, put up points and control the clock.

I expect them to keep getting better game by game. I don't know about a win next week like @Honey Badger is talking but I wouldn't rule it out. I haven't seen Conner at all, just going by a gut feel in that statement.

Conner has some things that work well for them and play turnover free. They got a few studs too. The loss doesn't hurt NCC at all Conner just handles business accordingly as I see it in that one.

Conner really has some fine athletes out there. Yes, they are off to a rocky start, but most definitely has the potential to turn this season into a positive. I know I said, I thought the score was going to be worse but being dead honest with you the score was right where it probably should’ve been.
