Final per the broadcast.  I think I have it right.

After watching Badin's game from last week, I thought a blowout was possible.

Dixie is a bad team again.  They still can't play defense and offense is the same ol same ol that simply does not work.  The offense was shut out in 2nd half.  They didn't make any adjustments.  

I, for the life of me cannot figure out how any coach can continue to try fit a square peg into a round hole with an offensive scheme that has not even remotely worked.  How has nobody on the staff said.....hey, this isn't working, we should really do something else.

They'll start off 0-4 and probably win 3 games this year.  

I don't like being overly critical of high school coaches, but man, some self-reflection over why things are going badly would really go a long way.

I was very impressed with Badin tonight. Their starting running back (#1) is a bowling ball that can move. Their passing game is good enough to prevent teams from stacking the box. Defensively, their front 7 is solid. They’re not very big, but they gave Dixie’s line fits most of the night. They’re quick off the ball and the linebackers fill the holes quickly.

Agree with all of this.   Their RB was extremely impressive.  They were an extremely well coached team.  Dixie couldn't even score on their backups and what looked like quite a few JV players getting first varsity reps.

From a parent in the stands only one kid in the OL started or even played varsity last year. From a thread in here they are starting two sophomores on the OL. That is rough at most schools. Currently Looking at the KHSAA they don’t have really a RB returning in any fashion. The WR core looked good. The QB appeared to throw the ball high at times that if the ball was placed lower things might have been different. 
 

I believe they had a chance to tie and with about 5 minutes left in the first half they were down 10. They just shot themselves in the foot too many times. If they get some type of running game going then things will sort out. Tough to do things when you’re young on the OL and your run game isn’t productive. There were guys running open just missed throws and turnovers. 

I love this job. I love these kids. I really love our Team. Last week we felt we beat ourselves. Tonight, we got our (butts) whipped by a really good team. Nobody is happy about it. I certainly make no excuses for it. You can’t give good teams short fields. You can’t play inspired defense for 3 downs and blow assignments on the 4th. You can’t blow coverages and get caught looking in the back field. You can’t have false start penalties that take your offense backwards. You can’t have 6 or 7 dropped wide open passes that would have extended drives. You can’t turn the ball over 6 (I think) times. Special teams being 1/3 of the game did us no favors… like at all. In short, we had our chances tonight early as we started to claw back and then shot ourselves in the foot. We got some key stops on defense and then again…. shot ourselves in the foot. Another way to put it, undisciplined and really sloppy. The unforced errors tonight killed any chance at making this a game. However, I love these kids, and I really love our Team.

Which is ? on the coaching staff and has been THE pattern the past 3 seasons.   Badin made halftime adjustments, and Dixie didn't.  As I said, in the 4th quarter, Dixie starters couldn't move the ball on Badin JV.  

Please change the offense.  Please.  It's quite literally killing any chances Dixie has at success.  Nothing like going 3 and out and running 15 or so seconds off the clock and expecting to win.

13-15 for over 200 with no interceptions usually fits into the scheme perfectly.

What is leading to games like 13 for 32.  Guys not open?  Guys dropping balls?  QB inaccurate?  O-line getting beat early and forcing QB to scramble and throw off balance?

All of the above. Guys are always well covered.  Guys drop numerous balls each week.  QB is overthrowing most passes because he is flat footed, not stepping forward with his throws.  O-line is getting beat like drums in 2 games.

 

But more importantly it's scheme.  It's a terrible scheme.  You can't run 1 man routes in high school.  You can't run pass plays directly into the heart of a defense. The passing scheme mostly consists of random assembly of routes that doesn't make sense.  Lastly is the stubbornness to stay with the exact same formation throughout an entire series for the sole purpose of getting plays off fast.  Formations are absolutely critical in getting a defense off balance and to figure out what they are doing and how to "set them up."  But when you run the same Formations 5+ plays in a row during a drive, you eliminate SO much of how you can attack the defense, and you don't get a great read of how they react to different formations that you could use to your advantage.
