NKU's Truist Arena is now home to an Arena Football One team, the Kentucky Barrels, to begin play in 2026.

Other teams are located in Albany, NY; Salina, KS; Dodge City, KS; Nashville, TN; Redmond, Oregon; Everett, WA; Beaumont, TX; Corpus Christi, TX; Billings, MT.

Is that where the RiverMonsters played?  Or did they play at Riverfront/FifthThird/Heritage Arena?

Yes, the Northern Kentucky River Monsters played at NKU's arena. (Bank of Kentucky Center, BB&T Arena, Truist Arena)

Not forgot but between the Barrels, the Slingers, and the Kings that are all new this year, it is A LOT to keep up with.

Friend at the game:

We checked out the new Kentucky Barrels Arena Football game. It was fun and very entertaining. Worth checking out and plan on attending again. About 1,000 people were there for their first game.

The Barrels won their opening game 34-26 over the Michigan Arsenals.

The Kentucky Barrels (Arena Football One) defeated the Oceanside Bombers on April 19, 2026, with a final score of 80-42, according to reports from that date.

I love football but I don't understand the logic of not just one new arena team in our area, but two.  And add the Louisville Kings of the UFL as a third, all in a small area.  No way all those, if any, can be supported.
