Who likes a good cigar?

I recently dipped my toes in the water and it surprised me how much I enjoyed it.  I never expected it.  I bought a few to celebrate an event with my sons and now I think I’m officially one of those guys.

  • Ahhhh...I understand. Cheap is a relative term, and is based on what you're willing to pay. I should have said that dollar for dollar, Cubans aren't really a good value. You're going to be paying clos

  • Hemingway Short Stories. Pretty much have reverted to celebrations only, but they are a waterside necessity at Memorial Day, Labor Day, and visiting my sons in the Navy.

I do not and will not smoke them but I love the smell.  They remind me of my grandpa.

Oh yeah I completely understand that.  Funny how we can be transformed back in time when our senses are piqued.  A smell, a taste or an old song can resurrect memories and take us back to a time or place we enjoyed a lifetime ago.  That can be very comforting and full of good memories.

@Ram is a cigar aficionado if my memory serves.

I like a good Kuba Kuba from time to time.

I tried one and it was too sweet for me. It’s the only infused cigar I think I have tried.   I’m still just exploring trying to see what I like.  I seem to enjoy the spicier offerings.  Had a Rocky Patel Edge in Maduro wrapper that was very good.

That’s why I like them because of the sweetness. Honestly those are the only ones I smoke with any consistency. Haven’t found any others I like so far.

As a rule I am much more of a savory and spicy fan than I am of sweets.  I like black coffee, peppery, spicy foods, etc.  I don't eat a lot of sweets.  And I find those culinary traits carrying over to my cigar preferences.  Not sure if that holds true for everybody or if I am the exception.

That's interesting, because I am the same in terms of food, definitely a savory guy, and I don't eat many sweets. But those Kuba's hit the spot for me.

Sounds like I definitely need to branch out and try some different ones!

No doubt.   When my grandparents moved out of their house and into a condo I got one of the loveseats that were in their family room and set it in my bedroom as a place to sit and watch TV.  Every time I sat down the aroma of stogies came wafting out and I was 5 years old again hanging out at their house with my cousins.
