Bishiop Brossart Travels to Scott High School to take them on in a Scrimmage Friday August 15th.

Who do you all think will win this matchup.

I will be here taking photos and looking forward to it.  They have been longtime 37th District rivals for the last 20 years.  It's always hard to predict a matchup between class sizes.  However, I will give the edge to Scott. Using the MasseyRatings from last year, the score is Brossart 30, Scott 28.

Brossart 35-21 would be my guess. Coach Koz should have them rolling.

What was the score?

The scrimmage format was 10 plays offense 10 plays defense 2 time for Varsity and 1 time for JV. Then a full half of formal scrimmage. In the 10 play format Brossart scored twice and had two big runs to set those scores up. In the scrimmage no one scored had a few penalties on each side which stalled drives.

So technically it was 14-0 Brossart with the 10 play format

0-0 in the half of the formal scrimmage

I watched some of the scrimmage and I like what I seen from Brossart. They also made tough catches at the wide out position.

If Mason was able to score 6 times on Scott. I would expect Brossart to do the same or better. Really heard good things about their skill kids.

I decided to go out to see the battle of 37 District foes.  It was so hot. Brossart looked really good in the 1st half. Scott made a run in the 3rd and early 4th before it looked like teams put in the young guys.  Scott actually won 36-35

Scott needs to figure out how to start better or it will be a long year

I was pretty impressed with Brossart

The final score does not do the Mustangs justice. Brossart led 28-0 at half. Scored on their first posession of the 3rd quarter to make it 35-0 starting the running clock. Scott scored on a pick six against varsity and scored a touchdown against Brossart jv's to make the score after 48 minutes 35-14. They then played two 8 minute running clock quarters for the jv's. They let the score on the board and Scott scored 3 more touchdowns and went for 2 and got on the last score to make it 36-35. Scott won on the scoreboard but Brossart dominated the varsity competition.

I look for Brossart to have themselves a nice season. It will be interesting to see where they finish at the end of it. They do have some nice skill position players.

Both teams played varsity into the 4th quarter.. as both wanted one position each in the 4th. It was 35-21 when the young guys were put in.
