Thanks G, I went in to change the title and you'd already gotten it. ?

As I read the documentation on that website in @Jumper_Dad's post, the next potential level of alert is an "Extreme Tsunami Warning" which means that yellow zones need to be evacuated as well as red zones.  Yellow zones border red zones, but are further inland.

Rumors on X that a local mega rich person has control of a private road on Maui that would be very useful for the evacuation, but the road remains closed. But like most rumors you have to sprinkle on some salt.

Live Cam!

This is on the western side facing due west. However this part of the island is shielded by two other nearby islands and may not feel the full impact of the waves.

North Shore Live!

This camera pans from SW to W to NW and is facing open ocean towards the earthquake.

It's either running behind schedule or has dissipated as it's rolled towards Hawaii. I'm out.

It appears that the US was spared any damage from the waves that did reached US soil.

Just read that 8.8 quake has 1.4 times the energy of a 8.7, this is thought to possibly be a top 10 quake ever measured.

That is wild.

I thought I saw somewhere that the Tsunami wave in HI was 10'.  While on a good surfing day they are 15' to 30'

Remember reading years ago that tsunamis will travel faster than the speed of sound.  Hard to believe.
