Anthony Wireman has announced via social media this morning that Jamie Todd is the new head coach of the Boyle County Rebels.

I had heard over the weekend that a different coach previously mentioned on the boards accepted the job, not sure what happened as I was surprised to see Todd listed as the new coach.

Todd is currently an assistant at Berea College.

I heard a different name as well. I’m surprised by this. However, congrats to Coach Todd and family!

Know Jamie well from his Rockcastle days, he is a hard worker and should represent the Boyle Co. program well.

Listened to his introduction tonight. Sounded eager to get after it and excited to work. I think he will do a good job.

Rebels will be fine if they get a few pieces around Driver.  It'll be interested to see a first time HC manage the pressure cooker of Boyle.

I don’t really see it as a high pressure job. I’d say he will be fine if he can just create an environment where the best kids want to play. That will require a good relationship with the football staff and a willingness to work with them.

If he can do that and just be competitive, I don’t think he will feel a lot of pressure. And competitive is relative as they won’t have the talent the next few years that they’ve had the last several. That assumes they don’t get football transfers that can help on the court.

Boyle Co. expects to win at everything.  They won a district championship two years ago and a region in ‘21.  If they don’t win, there will be questions with the hire.
