The 2025 Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Girls’ Basketball Sweet 16® will tip off its 64th installment this week inside Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center in Lexington, beginning with the first of back-to-back days of first-round matchups on Wednesday.

Wednesday will start with Region 16 champion Ashland Blazer (21-10) vs. Region 13 champion North Laurel (31-2) at 11 a.m. ET, followed by Region 14 champion Knott County Central (24-7) vs. Region 5 champion Taylor County (24-8) at 1:30 p.m. Region 10 champion George Rogers Clark (25-7) vs. Region 4 champion Franklin-Simpson (28-2) will begin the evening session at 6 p.m., capped off by Region 11 champion Frederick Douglass (25-7) vs. Region 8 champion Simon Kenton (26-4) at 8:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Region 15 champion Johnson Central (27-3) will face Region 7 champion and four-time reigning state champion Sacred Heart (31-3) at 11 a.m., followed by Region 6 champion Mercy Academy (19-14) vs. Region 9 champion Cooper (25-5) at 1:30 p.m., Region 2 champion Henderson County (27-5) vs. Region 1 champion Marshall County (25-6) at 6 p.m. and Region 12 champion Danville Christian (25-7) vs. Region 3 champion Daviess County (21-12) at 8:30 p.m.

The quarterfinals will take place on Friday at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The tournament will conclude Saturday, beginning with semifinal action at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and ending with the championship game at 7:30 p.m.

Schools in this year's tournament field have combined for a total of 12 state championships since 1975. In addition to Daviess County making its Girls’ Sweet 16® debut, Taylor County, Frederick Douglass and Danville Christian are appearing for a second time each.

We have a game now as Simon Kenton did not score the last 7:06 of the 2nd quarter and Douglass went on a 11-0 run the last 3:49 of the 2nd quarter it is now 21-20 Simon Kenton at the half. The Lady Broncos outscored the Lady Pioneers 13-5 in the 2nd quarter. Best game of the day so far.

Halfway through the 3rd quarter Douglass leads Simon Kenton 30-25. Douglass trailed early in the 2nd quarter 21-9 and since then have outscored Simon Kenton 21-4.
