Brossart vs University Heights (All "A" State Semis) Predictions

Featured Replies

I like Brossart. If the score stays in the 40's or low 50's.

Same as today's game, I don't know anything about UH, so I will just stick with the Mustangs by 5-10. : )

Good luck to the Stangs against UHA.

UHA will be the toughest out that Brossart could face. Scotty Hopson is QUICK!!! It should be interesting to see haw Brossart plays. If I'm Mutsch I don't see how I could sit another game. Where's your heart???

Nathan has plenty of HEART!!! We must remember that a high school senior does not call the shots. When you have parents and doctors involved, it is very obvious that a player/son can not control what he is made too do. I know for a fact that this kid had tears in his eyes on many occasions since Wed. night. You must not question this kids heart, but maybe the decisions be made out of his control!!

Mutsch is a player, don't question his heart. Just watch him on the court and baseball field. I've heard he had ligament damage in the arm? Any truth to that, if someone would verify it, I am sure that would clear up alot of questions about Nathan.

There is it a lot more to it than it looks. You have to remember baseball is high path to success and he signed a contract with Xavier w few months ago to play baseball.

Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with Nate.

A) He has NO ligament/tendon damage anywhere.

B) He has a Grade I SPRAIN of his ring finger and below his thumb on his pitching hand that he sustained in the Mason County game back on January 6th.

It has everything to do with being overly cautious.

He was being treated by our Sports Orthopedic doctor and going through thearapy to allow him to return to action, probably during the All "A" Regional when his parents sought and received a second opinion from a specialist, who put the hand in a cast and shut him down.

We had hoped that he would have been released to play in the "A" State tournament BUT it didn't happen. The hand remains in a cast until they can do a further evaluation, at which time it will go into a splint and he can once again begin thearapy.

Nate has signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Xavier University and the "injury" is to his pitching hand - therefore the added degree of caution.

I have been with Nate all through the "A" State Tournament and he is torturing (sp - left my spell checker at home) himself. He feels awful about not being able to play and contribute to the Mustangs' "A" State run.

My advise to him this week has been to change the things that he has the physical capability to change - accept the things that he cannot change, and to have the wisdom to know the difference.

At this point, while it is horribly bad timing for him and the team, it is out of his control, our coaching staff's control, and our trainer's control, and he will have to accept the decisions that have been made for him as painful as they are and we will forge ahead with the team that we are.

The seven seniors who remain sound have been resiliant throughout this tournament and are playing them one at a time. It would be an incredible testament to them if they are able to pull it off - if not, then we will have the rest of our lives to wonder what might have been with Nate in the lineup.

Thanks for clearing it up Mustang. No one should ever question Nate's heart.

This is a dead issue and off of the topic.
