Playoffs will go to a straight seeding model starting this season. Teams will be seeded 1-12, which should be much better than the past season with 4 conference champs getting the top 4 seeds.

FWIW I'm still not convinced a first round bye is a good thing, but we'll get a better feel for it with true seeding.

I don't like byes for anyone either, add four more teams and let it rip.  First two games at the schools, the semis and finals at wherever.

Also, Jimbo weighed in about the state of college football and I agree with him.

I'm old enough to remember the hub bub about KHSAA expanding the football playoffs. Yes a ton of blowouts but also plenty of 3 and 4 seeds beating the 1 and 2 seeds from the opposite district. Now in high school no one was sitting after wrapping up the best see they could get, but college has a lot more to gain/lose sitting or playing starters. I am on the 16 team playoff train. If they are trying to be greedy go all in.

I like it, more player development and the talent is spread out.
