The Girls All "A" Classic state tournament will start tomorrow (1/22) when the 9th region winner Covington Holy Cross (18-1) will play the 5th region winner Bethlehem (13-1) in the first round at 11:00 am EST. If you can't make the long drive to the Owensboro Sports Center in person you can listen live on Holy Cross Radio starting at approx. 10:45 am. These are the top two rated/ranked teams in the tournament playing in the opening round and ranked 8th and 9th respectively in the overall state rankings. Should be a good one!

I think Holy Cross is equipped to win this game, and I'd make them a slight favorite, but I think two things have to happen for them:  they have to shoot over 30% from there and they have to turn Bethlehem over 20+ times.  If they do those two things, I like their chances, in spite of the Banshees having the best player.

Two well coached teams as well, the chess match in-game should be terrific.

Agree with most of this. Turnovers in my opinion is the biggest key even over the three %. Holy Cross doesn't need to shoot lights our from three to win in my opinion. They are creating nearly 30 turnovers a game on the season. If Bethlehem is anywhere close to that # tomorrow I love their chances. All that being said, I look for this to come down to the last few minutes and who can execute down the stretch. I'd be shocked if either blew the other out. Holy Cross offense is more balanced, but you are correct the Banshees will have the best player on the court. Should be a fun one and again it's a shame it's the opening round.

I think HC wins by 10+ even with Leah Macy scoring 35.

Game is "As Advertised."

Halftime

Bethlehem 38

Holy Cross 37

70-64 Bethlehem wins.
