Hammonds has never been in a situation where he has had the material to win a big game or been in a region or district championship. Has been the underdog everytime.

 

 

I wonder if he would have gotten any more out of this years Bracken team? Jay did a great job, so that may have been tough.

Didnt Hammonds leave several starters at Bracken coming back this year? I would imagine he would have done fine and maybe even better down the stretch but both seem to be good coaches.

 

As far as West having alot back? 1 starter back and no other experience , only preseason ranking of 10. I think he has gotten alot out of West this year and far exceeded what they were suppose to do, but he seems to get the most out of his players where ever he is.

 

I agree with many of the posts, good coaches in 12th, many have been there. Good go to a number of coaches. Several teams have done well this year.

I would think : Jackson, Bottoms, Hammonds, Jones and Woods all deserve consideration and possibly even Bolin. Good balance this year and good coaching, but of course this is Kentucky and we do have the best coaches in America and far too often we forget that! Congrats to all the teams on solid seasons.

Scott Bolin from Garrard County might get some mention. The Lions went 5-19 last season and are currently 11-10. Not a great record, but better than many around the region anticipated.

KABC voting ends today it is always a regular season award. Other awards given out are different region to region, and some give awards later considering post-season achievements. KABC also gives out a player of the year for each region again regular season.

Dave Schulz, Charlie and the rest of the Warrior Coaching Staff gets my vote.

Mark Flynn at Pulaski got my vote because of the situation he came in under and he has gotten the focus back on basketball and not all the controversy that has hung around the last few years. On top of that he has them playing well and to me the Maroons just look like a well coached team that could make a run come tournament time.

I agree Andy, Mark Flynn has done a great job.

 

But the best job in the 12th this year could go to Travis Upchurh at Monticello. He has brought that team a long way in a short time.

Does Jackson have 11 votes because he is a good coach, or because he has good talent?
