Scrimmaging AND playing Highlands is an interesting schedule note. I understand that it's an excellent game for both schools both times, and in the grand scheme of 6A/4A, it doesn't cause issues for either, but it just looks strange to me. I don't recall seeing that before anywhere (scrimmaging and playing in the regular season).

Iron sharpens iron!  Plus, Coach Engler was Coach Sphire's OC at Lex Cath for many years, so I'm sure it's easier to set it up.  Not really any secrets amongst them, so it helps the players get some good reps and a plus RPI in the regular season.  I would think that the more interesting part of that is that it's on a Tuesday.

Last year I think they played a Monday or Thursday.

Me either. Had all offseason to think about it so hopefully they don't have a repeat this season.

Hopefully they get a chance to play each other in the postseason. 

Ryle returns 16 of the 22 starters from last year and Ludlows top rusher and he will start at safety.

I think Ryle is #2 team in 6A behind Trinity.
