Good catch bug, I thought about going back and adding that because now I want to know all about every last detail of their time(s) in Afghanistan.

  • I’ve been to New Orleans and been on Bourbon Street. The fact that there is any way someone can drive onto Bourbon Street like this is criminal and gross negligence on the part of the City of New Orle

Agreed, there is no way access should be possible. I too was shocked to see how accessible the entire French Quarter was, especially Bourbon Street.  NYC uses dump trucks filled with sand to bloc

  • Yep. Place emergency vehicles inside a perimeter, and beyond that it should be literally impossible to get a vehicle anywhere near people down there.

Sean Ryan will be releasing a podcast today with an intelligence analyst that received a "manifesto" type email from the Las Vegas bomber. The bomber as most know by now is or was a Army Special Forces soldier.

I am shocked that someone with that level of training and experience did such a poor job.   Weird to me.

Me too. I wonder if it was more about making some point rather than actually causing a lot of damage?

Might be the Cybertruck's construction and strength of its body, contained the explosion much more than anticipated by the bomber.

There has to be some mental health component here.

And that is something we all found out, those ugly trucks are built like tanks.

I definitely think their is some derangement on his part. Hopefully that email clears up his true intentions.

Per Twitter/X so take that with a grain of salt, I'd read that his current wife had just confronted him/left him over him cheating on her, right around Christmas. Still a lot of weirdness about the whole thing.

So add an extra helping of emotional disturbance.

I have touched on this before and I know it irritates some people but it is true.  From Colion Noir on Facebook.

This is the 10th deadliest mass killing in the U.S. since 2006. We need to Ban every car that can go over 20 miles per hour since that's the lowest speed at which a car hitting a person can be fatal.

We must require a background check for every car sold in the U.S.

You can't drive into any state unless you have that state's driver's license.

Ban parking cars at schools or [redacted] buildings.

Ban all-electric cars because they're too quiet, making them "silent killers"—you'd never hear them coming.

Oh, and let's pass Purple Flag laws where people can report you and have your car taken away if they think you're a danger to yourself or others.

Sounds ridiculous, right? Sounds outright stupid? Yeah, that's exactly how we in the gun community feel when the same logic gets applied to guns.

In this video, we analyze the tragic New Orleans truck attack that left at least 14 people dead and dozens injured in one of the city’s most secure areas.

The attacker chose a truck—not a gun—to cause mass destruction, proving that tools aren’t the problem—evil is.

The only difference between a gun-free zone and a no-vehicle zone is that at least the no-vehicle zone has physical barriers. In most gun-free zones, all you get is a sign on the door saying, "No Guns Allowed." Real adequate, right?

Join me as we discuss why more laws won’t stop these events and why self-defense and the Second Amendment remain essential.

I get your point G and I agree with it.

With that said, what folks aren't talking about and what's not being said, is the drone threat. It's VERY real and it's going to happen. Drone IED'S will be a terrorist attack payload and IMHO it's not if but when. How many videos have folks seen of a multi drone configuration carry a person or an object? Now picture those devices carrying a bomb or multiple bombs. Scary stuff. I think the next 20-30 years can be terrifying if/when that starts to happen.

I can't help but think about stuff like Terminator 2, when devices hunted people. We already live in that age and it's not going away.

One more caviat to my drone post, you can order as many as you want online, probably not going to raise too many red flags. Yes you are supposed to register them, get licensing, etc. But no one is knocking on your door if you don't.
