I guess it kind of makes sense when you consider Texas for many years with Brown at the helm, would come up short against OU.

Looks like they are after former Falcons HC and current Steelers OC Arthur Smith.   I guess UNC is looking to play a lot of 7 FG games.

I just can't see him wanting to recruit.  But if UNC had other people to do that for him and he just had to do the x's and o's, I could see that possibly working.

Maybe UNC, and he, are thinking,

"It's Bill Belichick.  He won't have to recruit.  Who wouldn't want to come play for the GOAT"

This all reminds me of how UK came close to landing Bill Parcells close to 20 years ago when Rich Brooks was hired.  There was reportedly serious interest there but the Cowboys freed up their job and hired Parcells instead.

Belichick showing interest in this job also shows me that he thinks no NFL team wants him.
