I can agree with that in a way, until you start looking at the teams between 12 and 20 and try to decide if any of them deserve to move up.

Today's AP poll will give us an idea of where the committee may lean.

If the playoff rankings are equal to today’s AP, there’s definitely some more big games this weekend that wouldn’t have been assumed as much. Clemson and South Carolina is a big one. 
 

With Auburn beating A&M last night and Alabama losing to Oklahoma, the Iron Bowl could be very interesting. You can bet Auburn will bring everything to play Alabama on Saturday. The same could be said for Michigan against Ohio State too. 
 

I said the SEC might get three teams into the playoff last night. After looking at today’s AP, it might be two instead. I also think that the chances of the ACC getting two teams into it are much higher. The B1G is likely going to be rewarded with the most teams to make the playoff.

I agree what is going to hurt the SEC teams is other than Miss. State the bottom half of their league is a lot better than the bottom teams in both the B1G and ACC.
