I have 0 idea how UK will stop the Cards but at the same time I don't see a reason why our offense can't score almost every time we get the ball.

I think there is several reasons to believe UK will be in a much better position.

 

1) Its a home game

2) We basically return our entire offense and should have an upgrade on the O-line.

3) UL has lost more defensively than UK. UK had a very young defense last year and is bound to get better.

 

I think UK has a real shot of winning next season.

I think Arkansas will be weaker, but Georgia will be better than last year, and in any case I would strike them off the list along with South Carolina because UK has yet to score an SEC road upset under Brooks. Coming into this year they hadn't even won on the road in SEC play had they, so I don't think you can start underlining road contests as good chances for UK. I don't think Louisville is strictly winnable, either, I think they belong more in the catergory with UF and LSU.

 

Are you serious? UofL in the same catagory with UF & LSU? No disrespect because UofL is on their way, but they are not near the caliber of team that Flordia and LSU are. Two years ago UK played UofL to the wire and nearly beat them at Commonwealth with a team less talented than this and UofL's team is no better now than then. UK is far more capable of beating the Cardinals. Louisville won the BIG EASY last year. There is a considerable gap between it and the (The Best Confrence in College Football) SEC.

I think people are underestimating UK for next year. They return 18 starters(the entire offensive scoring and every important defensive player) and throw in the injured, redshirts, grey shirts, jucos, a new DC and experience and confidence and they could be something very special. Almost all the big games are at home and I say every game on the schedule is winable. Bottom line is minimum of 7 games as in 06 and with a much improved team who knows.

I agree with you, now you heard it hear first 9-3. We will beat the Cardinals in our stadium. Our losses will be Florida, LSU, and I believe we can win this game but I won't pick the win Arkansas.

I seem to recall UK nearly beating LSU one year.

 

I guess since UK fans want to brag about moral victories, that puts Louisville in the same catergory program-wise, although that's not what I meant. I meant that Louisville belonged in the 'you never know what could happen, but in all likelihood this team will beat Kentucky' catergory.:thumb:

 

I do want to take issue with the belief that U of L is "no more talented now than then." That's patently false. Look at the recruits from 4 and 5 years ago (so that they'd be Juniors against Kentucky in 2005) and then look at the recruits from the past few years. Louisville is a MUCH more talent-rich team than they were then, especially in depth.

Louisville is still a better football team, but the gap has become more narrow. UK has their team back. Their defense was a night and day difference from play one last year till the end of the season. That is what happens when you are so young. They will be back and be much improved. Their will also be growing pains next year with a new head coach. Once again, Louisville is a better team, but UK has a better chance. I will give them the 20%, which is comprable to what UK had with Georgia this year. Stranger things have happened.
