Is Kentucky becoming a talent rich state?

Featured Replies

The question is will Tubby capitalize on this situation of talent??

If it weren't for the internet and sites similiar to this one ,a lot of these kids would never be known. I am and always have been a big basketball fan and stayed pretty well on top of things in the 10th and 16 regions but if it weren't for this site I wouldn't know much about the individual players mentioned from time to time. Good exposure.:ylsuper:

I don't know how Kentucky stacks up with other states in talent. It obviously doesn't compete with California, Florida, Texas, or New York. No knock on the state, because I live here, but there were only between 10-15 D1 players listed. Where are all the other Division 1 freshman coming from? Because 15 players isn't even 1% of the Division 1 freshman recruits every year. Ya know?

Would you say that might have something to do with Population?

And in a tough battle I will take the heart! I have seen kid's with heart overcome almost impossible odd's against bigger, stronger, quicker oppenent's who had no heart. Now if the B,S,Q, player has heart it would be a different story. If I was scouting I would scout for talent with a heart!! Just my opinion.

:thumb: I agree 100%. :ylsuper:

Nice post JB. A lot of people feel this way. Some say the don't read messagew boards like bgp and others but I can promise you they do. Maybe not for specifics but if they keep hearing a name they just might check it out as to where they may not had before.

A recruiter told the Mississippi coach that Beckham, Knowles, Jacobs, Mackey, Pettigrew, Proffit, Mack, and Hopson, could beat any Macdonalds all American team. I don't know how true that is, but we should be proud that these are the kids in the state of Kentucky, plus the many other great players in the state. Hopefully, most of these kids get to stay in Kentucky and play.

That recruiter needs to be fired than. That's a large stretch. Those kids are talented but no size. That seems to be the biggest problem with the talent in this state. A lot of talent but not enough size and that seems to be the first thing that college recruiters and scouts all over look at first.

I hope you realize how well our kids perform, you need to trust that we do have some big time players.

Plus football gets about 90 schollys to bball's 13. You have to be a super athlete and player to get a bball scholly to a big time school.
