We'll see about that one - Jacobs will be back when Scott Co heads to Cov Cath to play in front of the Crazies on Feb. 13.

Scott Co. should also have Portwood back for that game on Feb. 13. Another scoring option opens up more room for Walls and Mackey.

I would not be surprised to see Catholic win by 10 or more in the later meeting. The Toyota Classic is one of the hardest tournaments in the nation to beat the host school. Ask anyone who has ever played in it and they will say the same things. Scott is very good. But I sense they are missing something they need to win the big prize.

CovCath travels South again to Scott County to play the Cardinals..... Would have been nice to play them at CovCath, in front of the Crazies but...

 

I am sure that a lot of the Crazies won't be traveling down to this game, as the Saturday night prior to Valentines Day isn't what your girlfriend is looking for in a nice evening out. Sound crazy I know, but women, can't live with them, can't live without them....:thumb:

Bubba, nice to see you got out of Corbin and the 13th to see some real basketball last night. Just kidding. Scott County's problems putting Cov Cath away had more to do with Cov Cath than Scott Co. Cov Cath is much better than most people think. Although I do not particularly like the deliberate style of play, Listerman coaches this style better than anyone in Kentucky. When they make threes at the rate they were last night they are very tough to handle. This game was good for Scott Co.

 

In the 11th region, Bryan Station is playing very well. They distroyed Tates Creek and Doss in the same week, both on the road. I predict it will be Bryan Station and Scott Co in the finals of both the district and the region. Scott Co wins the district at home. The regionals are a toss up. It will be tough to beat BS 4 times in one year.

Scott County didn't blow away Covington Catholic like it has so many other teams this season. But as they have in now 18 of 19 games this season, the Cardinals came away with the victory.

 

CovCath put together a strong start and finish, but the middle quarters belonged to Scott County in a 63-58 home win Saturday night in the Toyota Classic championship game.

 

Matt Walls scored 22 points, Bud Mackey had 17 and Cameron Hundley added 16 for the Cards, who won their tournament for the fourth straight year.

 

"It was a great game. They're a great team," said Hundley, standing next to the massive championship trophy.

 

"It's pretty heavy," he said. "I had trouble picking it up."

 

 

Cardinals defeat CovCath in Toyota final

Cov.Cath was one of the best coached teams I've seen this year.Probably worked as a team as well as any I've seen. Smart and a great passing team and none seem to be selfish. Not like some other teams I watch .They're good to watch and I enjoyed them very much. Scott Co has a great team with great talent.:thumb:

These two powers have had some great games lately. Can't wait till Feb 13 so I can see one. It amazing to hear that a CCH team without TJ could hang in there with the top team in the state and possibly one of the tops in the nation.
