Twins put 3 across in the bottom of the 7th.  7-4 Reds headed to the 8th.

Game 2.  Currently 9-1 Reds on the top of the fifth as Cincy scores 9 in the 4th.

A Jake Fraley HR makes it 10-1 Reds, still in the top of the fifth.

Reds are making their “just wait ‘til next year” late season surge. 

It isn't a late season thing. It has been like this all year. The Reds are at their best against the best on their schedule (except Milwaukee). The Twins are excellent at home and the Reds have blasted them. The Reds have played very well against the Braves, Yankees, Dodgers, Astros, Phillies. The rest of the schedule not so good. Young, inconsistent team.

What the Reds need more of is their core rocks in their lineup and pitching. They are getting there. Steer,  Elly, Freidl in the middle of the lineup make the offense click. If Hunter can keep building and stay healthy, there is the ace to anchor your staff. Lodolo has potential at #2 but again, health issues. I  really think health and depth will determine next year's success level for the Reds.

Series finale.  Twins take it, 9-2.  Final home stand starts Tuesday with the Braves in town.
