North Oldham 54 Tates Creek 12

Recommended Posts

Was ugly almost from the get-go. North Oldham controlled the line of scrimmage all night and ended up with 554 yards of total offense. It was very balanced, too. Tates Creek came into the game with a running back who had rushed for over 400 yards in two games but they seemed very focused on throwing the ball, which didn't appear to be a strength. I think the Commodores should have tried to establish the run more early, but as I said, the North Oldham defensive line dictated everything all night. The Mustangs aren't in the top tier of Class 4A, but they are firmly ensconced in the 5-10 range.

North Oldham is good. I think Tate’s Creeks was a little fools gold being 2-0 because both their wins were over awful opponents. If North Oldham can beat South Oldham next week then in my eyes they are legit. That’s a mental hurdle for them that they’ve been trying to get over for years.
