This class of rookies is going to grow the league exponentially if the the WNBA plays it right.

 

These stats are a testament to how good the newest crop of WNBA players are, as well as an indication of how historically terrible the WNBA has been. 

Another mind boggling stat I read was Angela Reese is shooting around .430% inside 5ft. That's the worst at that range in the league.

Maybe she actually is missing intentionally to pad her rebound stats.

Last night was a little sad and probably ended the ROY debate.  Clark drops 31 and 12 in Chicago on Angel’s “Barbie Night”.  Reese had to be in the game with 9 end of the benchers (no offense Grace Berger) for close to 4 minutes to secure a 10th point to pad the double double stats.

I don’t believe it’s that, she’s just incredibly unskilled. The 43% without context is not mind boggling, but when you see how far out of the norm that is, that’s what mind boggling. I never knew until 6 weeks ago double-doubles were such a hallowed “stat.”

I wouldn't say unskilled.  She's great at what she's in there to do, which is grab rebounds.   She certainly isn't the most athletic looking player in the league, but she's effective on the boards.   A la Dennis Rodman.

She's athletic enough to be a solid rebounder. Not skilled enough with the ball in her hands to be a threat inside 10 feet.
