Cooper travels to Henry Clay where they hope to replicate their blow out from last year where they got to sit their starters the second half. It was a 42 to 2 dominant performance that featured standout efforts by Cam O'Hara and Austin Alexander.

After their opening win over Bardstown 36-6, the Jaguars should be ready to extend their clean start to 2 - 0 against a Henry Clay squad that was blown out in their first game, losing 44 - 16 to Oldham County. The only thing that I think may slow them down is the road factor, but even that shouldn't play a huge role. Expect O'Hara to air it out early and often and the Cooper defense to be all over the Blue Devils.

Cooper by as many as they want.

It hasn't been that long since Henry Clay was annually a solid team capable of deep playoff runs in the largest class. I don't know if it was Douglass opening, redistricting, or coaching changes but whatever the case, the Blue Devils' glory days seem to be getting further and further in the rearview mirror.

I agree and Henry Clay isn't the only school in Lexington that is a shadow of their former self.

Douglass obviously took it to another level, but Bryan Station is playing at a level not seen since the late-90s. Tates Creek is still capable of winning district titles and a playoff game or two, while Dunbar has been firmly mid-pack in 6A for a few years. Henry Clay and Lafayette, the city's oldest and classic football programs have just about disappeared, now floundering at the bottom of 6A.

I think you are being kind to Tates Creek and PLD but we agree.

Cooper 41-8.

Running clock early and often. Henry Clay is really a struggling program. FD, BS, Lex Cath and LCA cleaning up the talent in Lexington. HC and Lafayette have fallen off the map.

I believe the kickoff has been pushed back to 8:30 now, lightning here in Lexington.

9:00 kickoff.
