Chad Nickell looked good running and throwing the ball tonight. For Dayton, the majority of their experience is on both sides of the ball with the lines. Lots of youth at running back and receiver. It was 24-0 at the half. The offense should improve over time as some of the younger players get more experience.

That will be another of the things I miss about Davis Field. May sound kind of corny for football, but the sunsets from there are awesome.

Fond memories for me too!

I went to a game at Dayton last year and loved every part of it. Old bleachers and stone entrance gate. House across the street shooting fireworks. Fans on top of the action. And they played Ludlow with both fans having arguments with each other that have likely been going on for 100 years without resolution! The new stadium will be nice but Davis Field is pretty special.

It has been a long time for me but your experience tells me nothing has changed in at least the last 40 years. ?

Those small river school rivalries have always been some of the best most fun rivalries that don’t get talked about to much. All those communities are such great small communities that love their football.
