9. Louisville Holy Cross at 5A North Bullitt
10. Newport at 2A Carroll County

All of talk has been this is a one-horse race, with Pikeville the clear leader. I do think the mix of returning players and a couple of transfers could make Campbellsville a threat. Could the Eagles be similar to Russellville a couple years ago? Time will tell. I'm not sure if anyone below #2 is a threat to win the title, but the season and playoffs should still be a lot of fun.

It’s going to be another fun exciting year of Class 1A Football. Pikeville is most definitely the favorite again, but that’s why we play the game because anything can happen.

I think Ludlow is a top 5 team in 1A this year and I think they will beat Sayre here in a couple of weeks.

Give us your opinion on why they are?  Does your opinion change if they lose a close game? Will it change if Sayre beats them by 10 or more?

Last year Ludlow lost to Sayre just 14 to 0. Which was at the beginning of the season when Ludlow was still figuring things under a new coaching staff and started just 1 and 3. By the middle of last year things for them started to click and it showed by district championship and their regional final appearance. That confidence they gained last year has carried over, and I think Ludlow is even better this year. I also think Ludlow has one of the best running backs in all of class A. Sayre is very good, but I think Ludlow will be better than them this year and will beat them.

Awesome. Now that is a great analysis. I wish I could seen some tape of that game last year between the too. I’m high on Ludlow as well this season. I’ve got my eye on them. 

I love Coach Woody.  He has done so much through the years for those kids in Ludlow.  I hope Ludlow has a great season and Coach Woody gets the credit he deserves. Go Panthers!
