South Laurel 67 Corbin 60

Featured Replies

Hounds played better tonight at South, even taking the lead into the lockerroom at the half. Hammonds sat for part of the first half with foul trouble, but came back in for a good finish. Good effort on the part of the Hounds as they are showing some improvement and perhaps closing the gap.

Just got back! Great effort by the Hounds! A few rushed shots during the final period proved costly. The Hounds will Get em!:ylsuper: :D

The redhounds must have played much better than many, me included, thought they would. A loss is a loss, but this type game should prove to the young players they could be right in the mix with South when the region rolls around. But I'm sure South will still have alot to say about that.

I'll have some stats in a bit …

Sounds like Corbin played well.Especially to be at South. How did South play?

South appeared to play fine but Corbin wore down towards the end as the South depth and experience was the difference. Once the trademark flop three and one happened, it pretty much sealed the deal. Good game tonight between two fine teams that'll probably see one another two more times this season.

How did the Crawford kid do for Corbin? Is in living up to his 8th grade hype? Loved watching him in the state a few years back.

It did not seem as though Corbin shot the ball very well from the outside(Jim Schue will let us know for sure though). I also thought they turned it over too many times to beat a team as good as South. They played hard, took better shots(for much of the game) and hung in better physically tonight than in the first meeting.

Corbin keeps showing improvement. The Hounds will be rolling on all cylinders come district/region time.

I thought the Hounds showed tonight that they have alot of heart. I agree with Hound82 the big momentum changer was the made three and apparent flop that resulted in South tying the game in the third. I thought the overall effort was very improved by the Hounds. If they play like that the remainder of the season they will continue to get better. Hammonds stepped up big in the second half and had 20 points to lead the Cards. Josh Smith of Corbin made some big shots and finished with 18 or so.

Hamm & Bortman(sp) came up big for South Laurel tonight. These two guys can play, at least everytime that I have seen them, they have been much more of a factor than the freshmen who start.

Great game from Josh Smith, hopefully he will play that way the rest of the season.

I thought Coach P. was going to get a T when that call was made, probably the maddest that I have seen him on the floor. Corbin seemed to get a little rattled at that time and must learn to play through those type of things.

Corbin's defense and team play was much better tonight.
