For an old time Ninth Region guy this is a tough one to fathom. Villa has done a great job with their athletic program and this post is certainly not meant to sell them short. It is just hard to believe the level that Holmes has fallen from to where they are today. Hang in there Dogs.....and congratulations to Villa on their win.

I agree, this score feels like the Twilight Zone. 

Yikes!   Never thought I'd see the day when Covington Latin had more W's than Covington Holmes.

As John Lennon said, "Strange Days Indeed.   Most peculiar, mama, whoa!"

I was somewhat expecting to see a post of this ilk when Bracken County defeated Holmes by nearly 30 points recently.

I remember when Holmes dropped down from NKAC Division I to Division II.  Everyone raised eyebrows at that time.  Holmes seemed to be a powerhouse at that time, but the Holmes administration must have seen this decent coming.  It has taken quite a while to come to this stage, but during their stint in Division Ii, I don't ever remember them being a dominant force.   I could be wrong. 

This was only the second time that Villa and Holmes have played.

The previous time was in December of 2009, when the Bulldogs prevailed 59-36.  Looks like the Villa AD bided his time and picked the proper spot to get revenge.

There are so many factors contributing to this situation there is neither time nor space here to address them all.  So many of those factors are out of the control of the folks in Covington, yet there are many that are in their control and must be addressed before my alma mater can get back to the "glory days" that we old timers remember so well.  And, it is across the board for the good folks at Holmes, not just basketball related.  I wish my Bulldogs well and hope for good things to come.
