I think a lot of people assumed that DeMar Hamlin was going to win the award this year, but Joe Flacco took it home, despite Hamlin getting more first place votes.

I think the sportsbooks made a nice profit on this decision. Did they have their hands in it? lol jk

I guess having to play for the Jets is worse than death?    That's the only assumption I can draw.

Yeah, Damar Hamlin got more first place votes but I guess however they calculate the votes got more points or whatever for Flacco.

Plus, if I am not mistaken he only played 5 games in the regular season. Really for me based on overall performance I am not a Baker Mayfield fan, but he probably had the best season. imo

Like the MVP, I have no idea what this award is supposed to be about. Found this from an old NFL.com article: By definition, the CPOY Award is given to a player who "shows perseverance in overcoming adversity, in the form of not being in the NFL the previous year, a severe injury, or simply poor performance."
