January 22, 200719 yr I'm not even going to attempt to discredit this win for Peyton. The guy finally makes it to the Super Bowl, so I'll just be happy for him. The Patriots folded down the stretch, but you've gotta play for 60 minutes, and that's why they play the entire game instead of just calling it when someone has a big lead. The Colts just plain out took this one.
January 22, 200719 yr Neither,....... Although Peyton played good, If anyone lost it in particluar it would have to have been the Patriots D. Offense hangs 34 points and you can't win the ball game, especially after the Offense gives you a 21-3 advantage. The D started out making plays and playing excellent ball, but looked as if they sent the practice squad out for the second half. Thus, if anyone lost the game, it would have to be the Patriots D, not Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.

January 23, 200719 yr If you had to pick one you would have to say Manning won it. I didn't pick one. After the way they came out the second half I am still standing by the idea of the Patriots D losing it rather than Peyton winning or Brady losing.

January 23, 200719 yr The Colts were just the better team. Period. They should have won the game and they did. Brady didn't lose the game. Manning did a great job directing his team during a nice comeback. But, you had to know that an 18 point lead that early in the game against Indy was anything but insurmountable. The Pats secondary was extremely banged up, which is never good when you are playing Indy in the dome...they played admirably, IMO, but in the end, they just didn't have enough to win the game. The play of the game for NE, IMO, was the 3rd down when Bob Sanders almost picked Brady off...had the Pats converted, that was your ballgame. They didn't and Indy did what they had to. This is a chance for Peyton to get that Super Bowl monkey off his back...but this one game doesn't change my opinion of Tom Brady in the least. He is still the best big game/pressure/clutch QB in the NFL and the best QB in the NFL, IMO. He lost to a very good Indy team in the AFC Title game. So what? It came a week after he lead the Pats to an upset of the consensus best team in the NFL on the road. That doesn't take away his 3 Super Bowls, his previous clutch performances, his 12-2 playoff record, etc...you can't win them all. But, he's come pretty close in his career. Congratulations to Peyton for getting this big win...he earned it, he deserved it and he played great in the process. But, it will take more than one win against NE and one Super Bowl (if the Colts win) to change my opinion of Brady vs. Manning.
January 23, 200719 yr Manning won it! Do you all realize that the Colts scored more in the 2nd half then the Pats gave up in a total game all year? I think Brady was 62-2 when going into the 2nd half with the lead!
