Probably should figure out where Pulaski ranks into the equation.

With them not having Fraley and the fact they hadn’t really had a great win to date, I didn’t see a reason to. But with the win tonight, and especially doing so without Fraley, I would agree.

Rock was killing Boyle before Boyle came back in the second half to make it a game. Just seems like Boyle’s suited much better to press and to run. When they slow it down they look very average.

Boyle tried to slow it down against Rockcastle? why would anyone do that against a big team that can shoot threes?

Rock has a good solid team this year. Craig and hunt are two good players. I look for them to make region and we will see if they are able to compete with the favorites come region tournament.

I don't understand why Boyle County don't press. They haven't played that 1-3-1 this year either. With Bodner, Brown, Quisenberry and Turner they should be able to press teams. I don't think they will be good enough in the half court to not press. Last year they could sit back because they had Tarter in the back erasing a lot of mistakes.

Great question. Boyle was down 24-40 at the half.

Their press last year had Tarter up front. They put a guard in the back.

Rockcastle scoring 40 doesn’t indicate a slow paced game. Doesn’t sound like anyone intentionally slowed it down or Rockcastle wouldn’t have put up that many points in a half!

Rock does not play slow.  They push the ball up the floor.  People are underselling them.  They have the best collective size at every position.  Craig is a stud, and their other players play extremely hard.  Just not very deep.  47th district is a bear!

No doubt, Fraley will make PC better but here's a basketball thought in general that I think applies to this situation.  When everyone on the team is touching the rock, the whole team can get into a rhythm and will play harder and better defensively.  That's what I see from PC early on this season.  It will be an adjustment when he comes back because he is a ball dominate guard.  Unselfish, but has the ball in his hands the majority of the time.  I would imagine the same thing is happening @ Boyle.  Quiz is an electric player, but is a ball dominate guard.

If Rock gets to the regional- they’ll be one of the favorites.  You hit the nail on head- they have a 1-2  as good as anyone.

Fraley has played a lot of games with this year’s group, unlike some of past teams where he was several years older- That means something when it comes to rhythm and chemistry.

I do understand the idea- and possibility of that being true.

You're right, but the general thought remains true.  When someone comes back, that means somebody else is delegated.  They will be better, but I don't think it's a shoe-in that will be immediately.  It takes time on the floor.

Rock starting lineup for those unfamiliar with them- Rogers (6"4), Wilson (6"2), Craig (6"7), Durham (6"5) and Hunt (6"5).  Huge for this area.  There issue is collective ballhandling.  Somerset sped them up late in their game to come out on top, and sounds like Boyle almost did the same last night.  But, they're a solid squad no doubt.

Good chance Fraley plays tomorrow for the Maroons.
