? Several of Kentucky's finest will gather this Saturday at Dixie Heights, along with teams from Chicago, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati. Looks like a great day of basketball. 

1️⃣ Joining top ranked Sacred Heart is Indiana No. 2 Lawrence Central and a handful of the Courier-Journal's preseason Top 25 - George Rogers Clark, Cooper, Frederick Douglass, Ryle, Mercy, and Covington Holy Cross.

Lawrence Central at Noon and 7:30 PM?  Interesting.  

Cooper and Assumption open H4H. Cooper showing why they are one of the best in the state! Balance scoring here at the half! Cooper up 40-16 at half!

Excited to watch the sisters from Central. Lola #1 2026 in Indiana and her sister highly ranked in 2025 class! Both played  for U17 EYBL GYM Rats, which incidentally had a story telling summer. Not a positive story by the way! It will be interesting to see how two of Kys finest play against #2 Central! I like the chances of GRC and Ryle! Good luck to the KY schools!

Was hoping that @The Double Deucemight drop into Dixie for a few updates. I'm way out of town for this one. Anyone else plan on attending?

I've watched the current Indiana #1, Columbia City play a few times. Their coach is very, very complimentary of Lawrence Central.

I'm anxious to see how GRC matches up.

I believe the IHSAA limits the number of out of state away games member schools can play. A doubleheader here and a game up at Magnificat (OH) is all Lawrence Central has on the table.

There were some nice games.  SHA vs Example Academy went down to the wire.   In the first half there was some pushing between Johnson from SHA and an Example player resulting in a technical foul on each. It was fun to watch high level high school bball.  SHA pulled out the victory by one.

 

Holy Cross played Winton Woods.  WW was big and strong and went maybe ten deep which was needed because there were a lot of fouls called both ways.  It was a physical game.  The Indians came out in a tight press pressure defense and forced a ton of turnovers having a 20 point lead at one point in the first half. But had three players with 2 fouls by the end of the first quarter.  Since they were only going 6 deep they had to start being careful.  WW cut the lead to 13 at the half.  The third quarter was all WW and by the fourth quarter they had taken a five point lead. Nelson and Hunt from HC fouled out.  Two players from WW fouled out.  HC almost came back but ended up losing by 2.  If I had to guess there were in the neighborhood of 60 fouls called between the two teams.  It was physical but I would have let them play a little more.  Fouls and running out of gas got the Indians but they played tough and were shooting much better than last night at Ryle.
