Louisville 31 Virginia 24

Final.

Very ugly game by the Cards tonight in just about all aspects. Winning was better than the opposite result but it really was ugly. Hard to believe that Louisville will be in the ACC championship game against Florida State if Duke beats North Carolina over the weekend. They can’t play this way next week in Miami or it will be a loss.

Why does Louisville need Duke to beat UNC, isn't Louisville in if they win out? Or do you mean if Duke wins, Louisville is in regardless of how they finish?

If Duke wins it doesn’t matter if Louisville beats Miami.

Happy for the Cards, but really feel for Coach Elliott and those young men at Virginia. If adversity builds character they are about full. Heard early this am that he had feeling in extremities. Good sign.

Virginia has lost 5 games by a touchdown or less. Probably best 2-7 team in the nation. They did also beat North Carolina. Louisville missed 2 field goals plus threw a pick 6 so shouldn't have been as close but offense wasn't sharp at times.

I was impressed overall with the freshman quarterback from Virginia. I believe it was his first start last night according to what was said during the game. Whether it was or not, he’s got a good looking few years ahead of him based on what he showed last night.

But that pick thrown by Plummer, that was AWFUL. I know he’s inconsistent badly to put it mildly but there was no excuse for the one from last night.

I agree he did look good for a freshman and Plummer has some head scratching interceptions at times. Brohm said he had to talk to Plummer and get him back in a good place. That's where Brohm's experience as a QB helped.

One of the most refreshing things for me has been we are 9-1 and this offense isn't anywhere close to where it will be under Brohm.

That, and the defense is much better than I expected.

Defense has been the overall bigger surprise for me. I agree though, being in the position they currently are in Brohm’s first year is awesome. I know that I didn’t expect it.
