@FrankNicodemusI got the NCC/Cooper one right so far per NCC/Cooper X announcement.  I haven't seen the others yet.

I'm rooting for a CovCath / Highlands first-round match-up!!

CCH hasn't played Holmes in a regular season match since 2015. In all competitions since 2000, they are undefeated and the goal differential between them is 206.

They have only played Holy Cross once in the regular season since 2000. In all competitions starting in 2000, they are undefeated and the goal differential between them is 75.

The record for Beechwood only goes back to 2016 with 3 regular season matches. Across all competitions, they are undefeated and the goal differential is 45.

I'm not sure but there may be something in the KHSSA rules that allow for a team that has gone undefeated with a goal differential of 326 in their district from 2000 to play more games outside of their district. 

To be honest, CCHs district record is shocking to me.

NCC vs Cooper will be played on CovCath's turf field @ 6pm. Right before CovCath's matchup with Highlands in the first round.

Top-half of that bracket is, umm, soft.

Bottom-half is going to be a WAR.

I literally can’t wait, next week is going to be nuts!!!!!

There is little point to a regular season when standings only determine what jersey you’re wearing. Someone please enlighten me.

District winners draw a district runner-up. Only one district member on each side of the bracket.

NCC was the first district winner picked - this forces Highlands to the bottom half of the bracket.

Dixie was the next district winner picked - this forces St. Henry to the bottom half of the bracket.

*At the same time, this forces Cooper and Holy Cross to be in the top bracket as Ryle and CovCath must be in the bottom*

Matchups are then randomly set from there.

It’s a blind draw. Winners of district (all the home teams) play a loser of a district. If it was by RPI it would be as follows:

Ryle (1) vs St. Henry (8)

Highlands (2) vs Dixie Heights (7)

Covington Catholic (3) vs Holy Cross Covington (6)

Newport Central Catholic (4) vs Cooper (5)

Second round would’ve seen Ryle vs NCC and Highlands vs Covington Catholic.

Finals would’ve been Ryle vs Highlands if all the top seeds advanced in that fictious scenario.

As it is Ryle does get the weakest seed in the tournament, but then have to play either the 2 or 3 seed.  Overall it is a pretty even draw  I’m sure all the teams on the other side are happy…I think all of them but Holy Cross can make it to the finals.

Thank you sir. I just finished looking at the specific procedure as outlined on the KHSSA site under regional instructions. It took following a few different links, but it's there.

Holy Cross did beat CCH in the district finals in 2019 in PKs.  I was at that game it was crazy.  You are correct teams can just concede a loss in the regular season and not have to play a team.  I don’t really know the back story with HC CCH other than it sounds like there was a history of lopsided games.
