2023 Baltimore Orioles

Featured Replies

As a long-suffering fan (last WS championship 40 years ago, last Division title in 2014, 100 losses two years ago), this season has been a pleasant surprise.   Here were the AL East over/under predictions going into the season:

Yankees 93.5

Blue Jays 91.5

Rays 88.5

Red Sox 78.5

Orioles 76.5

With last night’s win, the Birds have now won 100 games and clinched the division as well as AL home-field advantage.  They’re a year or two ahead of schedule, and have what is widely regarded as the best farm system in baseball.

Anything else is icing on the cake.

That lineup can put up some reason. Bet on them quite a bit throughout the year.

And they will be the Baltimore Orioles for at least the next 30 years.    Big season for them.

I just heard something on tonight's broadcast that I would not have realized if I had not just heard it. Most think the AL East is always a very strong division, if the Orioles lose tonight (they trail 7-1 currently) it will mark the 11th straight loss by that division. It goes back to the 4-0 sweep of the Yankees last year by Houston. Toronto was swept this year by the Twins and the Rays were swept by the Rangers.

Yeah, the Rangers are definitely hot. Creed is leading them to the Promise Land!

Unfortunately, teams need to be built for a 162 game season to make the playoffs.  Then, anything can happen in 1 series.   If they replayed the games starting tomorrow, maybe Baltimore wins in 3.   Just the way it goes.
