Series History: Conner leads 11-7 all-time 

Turn the page: With claws sharpened, the Jaguars took a swipe at Highlands last week. Blood hemorrhaged, but the Birds lived to tell about it. No time to dwell, as Cooper has to regroup for a quick jaunt north to Hebron for a date with Conner. The Cougars are stalking the periphery of 5A, waiting for an opportunity to strike. The wait is over.

Central Figures: Cooper's three headed monster of Cam O'Hara, Isaiah Johnson, and Austin Alexander have bordered on indefensible at times. Defending may be what Alexander does best, where he teams with Jack Lonaker to cover the edges and middle, respectively. They'll have Wyatt Hatfield, Conner's quarterback and leading rusher, in their sights. Linebacker Adam Duncan leads the Cougar defense, ranking near the top of 5A in tackles with Lonaker.

If you're into comparing scores, the one common opponent here is Ryle. The Raiders beat both Cooper (28-10) and Conner (28-7) by comparable scores.

For the compare the scores people, this is an interesting matchup. The Ryle scores say this is a pick 'em game. However, I  think most would say Cooper is a clear favorite. In the current poll results, it is 8-0 in favor of Cooper. Does anyone think Conner can win this one? How can they win?

No. You just have to be cleared by the KHSAA however long that takes.

Still no takers on Conner. It's now 17-0. 

Cooper's higher ceiling has proven too tantalizing to pick against.
