The 'Holy War': Volume X

Records: LexCath (2-2) | LCA (3-1)

BGP Rankings: LexCath (#2 in 3A) | LCA (#2 in 2A)

Week 4 Results: LexCath beat Great Crossing 36-15 | LCA beat CAL 14-12

Series History: LexCath leads 5-4 all-time

Where they've been: LCA just concluded what's likely an unprecedented run of four consecutive opponents ranked #1 in their class. Only a hard fought loss to Boyle County prevented a sweep. Lexington Catholic sits at .500, with both losses coming to championship contenders in higher classes.

Where they're going: It says something that the 'Holy War' is considered a breather for the Eagles, because LexCath will be up for this one. LCA provides them with an immediate common opponent with Class 3A favorite CAL, whom the Eagles just edged last week. A win here stamps the Knights as a legitimate threat to the defending champions in Louisville. For their part, LCA is seeking revenge for last year's 42-6 drubbing, sans Cutter Boley, who sat out injured. Boley and Brady Hensley are both getting their first taste of this rivalry.

Going with LCA in this one. Lexington is small big town and these kids know each other. LCA players have gone a year having to hear about the thrashing they took last year. I think they will be up for this game.

LCA by 14.

Looks like Catholic leads this rivalry 5-4

LCA by multiple scores. The star power will shine tonight for the Eagles.

Looks like this one is free on PrepSpin.

I'll embed the video closer to kickoff if it's available on YouTube.

It is listed under the sub-heading of sponsored events so I am not sure if it will be free or not.  Whatever it is, we all know it will be high quality because it is Prepspin.

27 to 7 LCA in the poll.

I'll be pulling for the Catholics but I think the Christians will get the win.
