Why did KC go for it on 4th and 25?

I assume they thought they had a better chance of getting the first down, which they just barely missed, than they did their defense stopping the Lions from getting that first down. Inches away from a first down catch.

I feel like a kid on Christmas. So pumped for NFL to be back and we got an Amish Swing Set put in our backyard today for the little man. Can't wait to see his excitement when we pick him up from dayca

  • The Chiefs right tackle has been lined up in the backfield all night long. Never been called for illegal formation. He happens to be the one trying to block Hutchinson.

  • I noticed it last year league-wide. I can’t help but think the league is telling the officials to let the tackles line up that far back to help protect the QBs.

Obviously that's what they thought, but it made no sense. Detroit has only scored twice on the KC defense.

By going for it KC turned the ball over on downs deep in their own territory. I get Detroit rushed for a first down to end the game, but had they not gotten it they were in easy FG range. That would have forced KC to then score a TD instead of a FG. Plus with Mahomes scrambling on 4th down, 9 seconds ran off and they lost the two minute warning timeout.

In their own heads about not having Chris Jones I guess.
