KHSAA "Scoreboard" Features Discussion

Featured Replies

? Please share your tips for using the KHSAA/Riherds "Scoreboard." What features do you find useful?

• A question arose in another thread about accessing team rosters including coaching staff.

? One could go through a four step process to find and print or download a school submitted roster. If I'm at home prepping to do game updates here I'll  do that. It'll give me details "at hand" on the coaching staff, and for players ht./wt.

?If I'm at a game or on the road I want to do that on the fly from "The Scoreboard" page.

Have the app open > scroll to and click on "Football Scoreboards" click on '2023 Scores and Schedules.'

Two ways to find a thumbnail version of a team's roster: 1. At the page header > scroll to and click on school. OR 2. From the day's schedule, just click on the school. Using Adair County here.

On the school's schedule page, at Roster link, "Click here."

? A drop down alphabetized roster will appear. New this year is the ability to sort rosters, not only by name, but now by jersey number too.

Any tips other handy shortcuts to share BGPers?

My favorite feature is the ability to see the history between two teams.  I only recently discovered it and I really like that.

When you are looking at a team's schedule, or on the weekly scoreboard  list of game, there is a symbol on the far right column showing two arrows pointing in opposite directions.  Click on that and you will see all the history between those teams going back to 1998.

For example if you want to see the history between Betsy Layne and Prestonsburg, click the arrows, and  you will see the following...

(Nevermind that I highlighted Floyd Central instead of Prestonsburg, LOL, you get the idea)

What I Like:

1. This is a luxury that other states don't have. To be able to have game stats, season stats, past seasons, team vs. team history, and the RPI all in one place is really a tremendous thing.

2. I like how easy it is to find as well even on mobile.

3. I like that you can easily navigate to different sports and teams without having to leave. For example in basketball season it makes it easy to check in on both boys and girls teams. It is also nice that if I want to look at a 3A team and then find a 2A team so I can compare RPI of the different classes it takes very little time.

What I Don't Like:

1. Nothing... I can only offer suggestions for taking it to the next level.

What I Would Love to See Added/Improved:

1. Live score updates. It is asking a lot I know... but if there was a text server where authorized score updates could be sent or authorized school twitter accounts could tweet and tag the scoreboard and the scoreboard updated to reflect, it would be awesome. Don't need time, possession, or down & distance.. Just the most recent Score and Quarter. In Georgia I use this every week.

I also notice that broadcast crews down here keep that scoreboard pulled up at all times so they can do local score updates. This is a great website with great coverage, but you probably only have about 25% of regular season games updated with regularity because there simply aren't fans from most schools posting.

2. A class filter for football would be nice. "Sort By: AA" would only show games involving AA schools. Maybe for other sports you could sort by Region.

3. This is reaching far I know.. but might as well paint the picture of a dream scenario. Assuming live scores could be a thing, I also would love a scenario that takes it a step further where you could essentially choose a stable of schools/sports and get a text notification when the live scoreboard changes.

RPI, per the KHSAA, is released at the beginning of the fifth week of the season for all sports; September 11 for football this year.

1. This link is for the KHSAA site which I forgot to add in the OP. RPI can be found by working through the MENU in the upper right.

? khsaa.org/master-scoreboard

2. This is a direct link to that RPI page.

Where can you find assistant coaches listed?

The new "sort by" features on the rosters are definitely a MUCH appreciated tweak, if you ask me.
