Colonels_Wear_Blue
HBO released a new documentary a week ago about Bishop Sycamore high school, the "school" whose football team infamously played IMG Academy on ESPN in 2021, losing 56-6 to the Ascenders while the ESPN commentators, crew, and the nation watched in disbelief at how bad the Bishop Sycamore Centurions played. As the game went on that Sunday, only two days after Bishop Sycamore had played their previous football game (a 19-7 loss to Sto-Rox High School out of Pennsylvania), social media lit up with posts about Bishop Sycamore and its players, calling their ages into question, and questioning the overall legitimacy of the school. The players appeared to be sharing helmets as they came off and on the field, their coaching staff appeared to do very little during the game, and as injuries happened - including two ACL tears, a broken ankle and a separated shoulder all suffered by Centurion players - it became clear that there was no training staff for Bishop Sycamore. Johnson Central ended up becoming one of the few teams to play the infamous Bishop Sycamore football squad during the 2019 season, winning their Sep 16, 2019 game by a score of 34-8. The Golden Eagles, who have an annual challenge to find willing competition to fill out their non-district football schedule, chose to keep the Centurions on their 2019 schedule, even after early questions about the school's background were being asked. Belfry had previously scheduled to play Bishop Sycamore in 2019, but dropped the game from their schedule in early spring of 2019. Johnson Central once again scheduled to play Bishop Sycamore on their 2021 schedule, intended for two weeks after the Centurions' game against IMG Academy on ESPN, but Johnson Central opted to cancel the game three days before it was scheduled to take place. I'd definitely recommend watching the documentary on HBO. It's an absolutely in intriguing look into the whole flap, and into the delusional ego that is Roy Johnson.
Colonels_Wear_Blue
The title of the documentary definitely is skirting some issues with Rule #8 of the BGP Terms of Service, so no discussion or mention of the actual documentary name in the forums, please. But here is the trailer. The movie has been available Max, the streaming platform for HBO since August 23rd. Rule #8 Any attempt to use or suggest profanity is prohibited. This means you may not use symbols to replace some or all of the letters in a word that might otherwise be blocked by the BGP word filter. Any attempt to circumvent the word filter with general abbreviations or text message abbreviations will also be considered a violation under this rule. NLTanker1
I'm watching it now. The "coach" is one of the worst people I've ever seen or listened to. The words I want use, I can't. And the the words I need to use are escaping me. You have to feel bad for everyone involved but him and his partner.
