This is a good situation to bring up. How would one actually have proof that they truly played in all 8 quarters at the lower levels? Is it a minimum of one snap per quarter? In that instance just being on special teams would render them ineligible until the time line has expired. Learn something new every day on here.

The man runs the program. You cannot be serious with this post. It quite literally is his job to control/teach everything you just described.

  • I would think he’d be “told” he needed the JV reps not “asked. “

Is that the way it works now?  Am I correct that this is high school football?

Bob Sphire really smarter than we all think. He’s gotten Fort Thomas to celebrate him when he wins, but to blame those kids when he loses!

Brilliant!

You can teach all you want.....but some guys still don't do what you teach and coach. Ever happen when you were coaching? I would imagine those PFs will be discussed up close and personal.

Hopefully one of the senior captains will go up to Bob and say “Hey Coach, your behavior was unacceptable.” Should have no problem as they rule the roost!

And if he's the coach everyone thinks he is he'll addressed that to his team before any player has to do so.

Doubtful. This isn’t a new development. There have been plenty of opportunities to nip it in the bud well prior to Friday night’s game.

The dumbest thing I heard was that 5 frosh played the entire JV game before the frosh game.  Come on coaches you have to be better than that.  Parents don’t let this even occur.  If a frosh is good enough to play JV then that is where they play.  If not, that is what frosh ball is there for.  You have a kid that got 3 snaps in a varsity game on Friday  that was asked to play?

Sounds irresponsible if true.  Makes me wonder about non-Frosh JV players getting enough reps as well. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to have JV players acting as tackling dummies for varsity all summer, and ride the pine on Fridays only to have freshmen come up and take their JV reps. Especially when those freshmen are also starting Frosh. The balance of reps doesn’t seem to add up.

Correct, this is kind of a day 1 culture kind of thing. Not a year 3 post 2nd game of the year kind of thing.
