Saint Xavier vs. Floyd Central (IN) Predictions/Updates

Featured Replies

St. X opens this season with Floyd Central (IN) coming to St. X. Floyd Central is rated one of the worst 5A teams in Indiana based on Calpreps ratings. This looks like a tune up game before entering the meat of the schedule. Floyd Central likes playing good teams from Louisville as last year played Male and Manual. I've always been surprised that Floyd Central isn't better in football than what they've been.

Preview article on Floyd Central. They return double digit starters plus all of O-Line but 1 and 3 year QB. Also RB that had 97 yds against Male but was hurt and missed rest of season. Looks they will be improved over last season and have aspirations to win their Hoosier Hills Conference. I think the Tigers still roll. Their secondary won't be anywhere near the caliber of Frederick Douglass and look for Marlon Harbin and QB Trevor Havill having a big game. Tigers also get back best LB Kruse Metzmeier who didn't play in Frederick Douglass scrimmage and will give a boost to the defense.

Floyd Central must be a glutton for punishment. They've been messing around with Male for a decade and picked up Manual the last two years. All those games yielded a combined score of 439-69 and zero wins for the Highlanders. So naturally, the next logical step is to add St. X to the schedule. Maybe they're playing a long game here that I'm not smart enough to see.

Maybe it'll pay off some day, but not this week. Tigers, big.

Looking at Calpreps preseason ratings, St. X should win by 44.

Always a great time of year as high school football is officially kicking off! Fredrick Douglass was a great scrimmage for the Tigers as a lot of players got their first taste of varsity football. A lot of teachable moments and I think this team can continue to improve each week.

Tigers should take care of business this week and have the opportunity to get a lot of kids more varsity reps.

St. X home games will be streamed on St. X youtube  channel and WHAS 11 app and website.

I'm not sure what FC is thinking. As stated above, they seem to be a glutton for punishment. I think they've only had one game against Male that wasn't an absolute beating.

This will be a route.

St. X- whatever...63

FC- doesn't matter...7

I had heard some metal cross section supports were stolen so maybe related. Good access for thieves since Cemetery is behind bleachers.
