Highlands' SoS is #15 statewide and #2 in 5A (5A #1 is Dixie Heights). 

11 of the Top 12 in CalPreps KY SoS are 6A teams. From the "smaller" classes - 10. Dixie Heights (5A), 13. Boyle Co. (4A), 14. Corbin (4A), and 15. Highlands (5A).

4 teams on Highlands regular season schedule are in the final 4 of their respective classes. Cov Cath, Raceland, Cooper and Lex Cath. They also played Ryle that advanced to round 3. The teams on their regular season schedule have won 15 playoff games.

These are fair points. Like it or not, maybe one of the good things re RPI is its transparency.

Like the math teacher at Trinity earlier this year, one can peek under the hood of RPI and see where the formula has gone astray because it's known to everyone. There are no magic proprietary numbers or functions as in CalPreps, Massey, Cantrall, etc. And, we don't know how their OWP and OOWP are figured or the relationship between "SoS" and the "Power Rating." Is there a premium in "playing up" or a penalty for "playing down," who knows?

One could only assume playing teams below the top 50 are dragging Highlands SoS down. I could quibble with the ratings of other teams too.
