Jumper_Dad
Over 200 violations and nearly two dozen of them were level 1. Pruitt can't coach in NCAA for six years. UT with 5 years probation and $8 million fine. No post season or bowl bans. All things considered, probably the best result they could have asked for.
TheDeuce
This is a slap on the wrist for UT. Typical NCAA inconsistency.
Jumper_Dad
Just now, TheDeuce said: This is a slap on the wrist for UT. Typical NCAA inconsistency. Agreed, I think firing the coach quickly probably helped them some.

No bowl ban, no postseason ban, no scholarship reduction.....but if this were a FBS G5 school with these violations, then throw the book at them! Bluebird
I understand they did have a scholarship reduction. Still a light penalty.
Tranquility Base
They also had to vacate some wins. That'll show 'em more than the fines and scholarship reductions. I'm ok with the fines and the wins vacated (let's face it, that means next to nothing). Not really Ok with the scholarship reduction. That's just punishing todays kids for something people know longer around did 4 and 5 years ago. In theory, Jeremey Pruitt screwed up in 2019 and now some 18 year old misses his chance to go to college in 2023.
