According to their arguments it should be that simple. Calipari is a horrible coach that knows nothing, and Pitino is great at everything. So if that is true like some people say and Calipari just sucks as a coach. Then you would think Pitino would have been able to get his teams to beat Calipari more even if Calipari had more talent on some of his teams. Yet when they have played both coaches won when they were the ones with more talent at UK. Then both coaches split when their teams were having equal talent. 
 

Calipari college career record against Pitino is 13 and 10. Which Calipari’s record at UK against Pitino is 8 and 2. When Pitino was at UK and was the one with more talent he went 4 and 1 against Calipari. The time when both coaches overall had equal talent was when Calipari was at Memphis and Pitino at Louisville and they were in the conference USA together. Which their record against each other during that time was 4 and 4.  Then if we want to add their NBA records against each other they went 3 and 3. So they have split when they basically have equal talent. 
 

So these coaches have literally been about as equal as can be in almost all areas. Plus both only coaches to take 3 schools to final fours, and are Hall of Famers. Yet we have had some on here who act like Pitino knows all and Calipari doesn’t know how to coach. Which if that was true their resumes wouldn’t be basically identical through the years. 
 

I'm fine if people would give Pitino the edge, because the one area they are different in is Pitino has won one more title. So I would give Pitino the edge because of that too.  I just argue with the ones who worship the group Pitino walks on and acts like Cal sucks. When the reality is their resumes are almost identical in all areas. So Calipari must be a better coach than they want to admit.

If Cal had left UK after 8 years for another job...UK fans would view Cal as the apple of their eyes.  Pitino left when he was hot...the only Coach in UK history to do so, therefore he is "the one who got away".

Look at the mess Pitino left at U of L and be thankful that Cal, despite his critics, has ran a first class program with very little off the court issues.  He and Ellen have also been pillars of the community, unlike Pitino and his cheerleader/restaurant escapades.
