6- Breathitt County, Danville, Leslie County, Somerset
7- Floyd Central, Knott County Central, Martin County, Prestonsburg
8- Betsy Layne, East Ridge, Pike County Central, Shelby Valley
**- Not eligible for district postseason competition until at least 2024

5. Beechwood (WV and Carroll may be only challenge in that district).

6. Somerset (Dark Horse to make some noise this season).

7. Floyd Central or Martin County (Unsure on this district).

8. Shelby Valley 

I think LCA, Beechwood, Somerset, Danville, Mayfield, Walton-Verona, Owensboro Catholic, Metcalfe County, Murray and Shelby Valley contenders. Think Mayfield and LCA will be final 2 teams this year just on recent success and with Beechwood looking for a coach still and unsure who that will be at this time.

Beechwood will be be in the final four at least. I don’t think they will miss a beat whoever the new coach is. 

I think Green should win there district. Mayfeild Beachwood LCA will be in the final four everyone else is behind them

I believe their best returning player, running back Guy Bailey, transferred to Corbin.

There have been some good teams in Class 2A in recent years but they've not been at the level of Beechwood, Mayfield, or LCA (or Somerset/Danville in recent years). I agree with @theguru, if a team like Owensboro Catholic can be a viable threat it will only make the class even better.
