Wiehoff, Blackburn, and Grubb have graduated. New names on this season's roster are Grindstaff, Pulsfort, and Stretch. 

Junior IF/OF Dylan Griffen is leading the Eagles' basketball team in scoring. 

So far this season, Scott has 17 players on their roster, including Griffen. How is potential player interest and tryouts for the Eagles looking?

Wow all the upgrades at the field and school campus and yet they go with a grass surface vs. turf.  Crazy.  
 

How are the Numbers this year? I have heard they are lower than usual.

Why go with grass? Interesting. 

Sounds like numbers are down all over from what I'm hearing/seeing. Doesn't surprise me, but sad to see.

What was the budget for all of the improvements at Scott? How much more would a turf field, used for just one sport, have added? Seems like this is a, "That's a nice new Mercedes, but why didn't you get the AMG package?" type of question. The top pic is of the old field. Haven't seen it up close, but it looks like it was in good shape previously.

Scott has 29 players on all three levels. Enough for fully functional frosh and varsity teams, with some crossover for a fair number of JV games.

At some schools that offer it (large 2A to small 5A), even those with high "participation values," I think you might start seeing some athletes choose lacrosse rather than baseball. Spot checking track and field rosters, it looks like numbers there are up slightly.

Going to turf would require KCSD to turf the other 2 baseball fields (DK and Dixie) for equality, and the softball fields at each school for Title 9. While it might make sense cost wise to turf one field, it doesn't make sense to turf 5 other fields in the district.

So how's that work for other sports like the new football scoreboards and turf field at SK and Dixie? Also the new floor design at SK hoops? Scott can't even get light bulbs in the gym and on the scoreboard to work.

Maintenance vs upgrade. 

Ones on the school and one is on the district, even if some funds come from the district. 

Just a guess though, I actually have no idea.

Turf field replacements are dictated by testing that is done annually. When the field does not meet standards it is replaced, which is usually every 12-15 years. As far as the gym, as you probably know, Scott’s gym is being renovated completely starting any day now that basketball is over. Scott’s facilities are being updated, repaired and replaced at the same rate as the other 2 schools. Once this current round of updates are computed in the next 6-12 months, with the baseball field, gym, pool, and aux gym, Scott will have the best facilities in the county.

Scott being the newest school in the county, has been the last of the three to receive upgrades.
