Final a very good game, but the Broncos defense just dominated this game and carried Douglass to the 5A title game next Saturday night their 3rd final in 4 seasons.

Much respect to FD - I thought these 2 were the most talented teams in 5A.  I think that showed and Freddie showed why they are #1.  Stifling defense.  Congrats and good luck in finals!

Congrats to Douglass on a hard fought win! Was well deserved. Defense is amazing. It’s does look like this might be Douglass’s year. But that potent passing offense and aggressive defense coming out of BG will have a lot to say about that. Wish both teams going forward good luck!

P.S The Devils will be back. Have a lot to replace but the stable isn’t empty.

Hart 2 yard TD

Owensboro sack for safety

Bryant 51 yard TD in 4th quarter

FD missed 2 FGs, O never in RZ nor threatened

I never take victory in defeat but I feel like the devils exceeded many expectations. Most thought that Douglass would running clock there way through the playoffs. I’m glad the gauntlet that is 5A Ky football proved otherwise. I’m also glad my Devils showed that they can play with anyone in the state.

Boone was 6 for 25. 69 yards

Carbon 10 for 68

Bryant 11 for 98 including huge 51 yarder

FD going to have to score a few more TDs to beat BG next week.

Congratulations FD on the big win!

Looking forward to the Championship game with my Purples!

Red Devils no shame here!  You played a terrific game and just came up short to an extremely talented team.  Owensboro always has athletes so I expect them to be in the hunt next year like always.

I was interested to see some of their individual stats from the game last Friday night but the coaching staff from Owensboro still has not posted their stats on the KHSAA web site.
