Petrino took UofL to the top of college football. Now he is taking himself to the top of his own career. UofL never got used, we got the Orange Bowl.

No one is bitter with Petrino if he doesn't have his dalliances before this. He took Louisville to the next step for this program. He always was an NFL guy, and it will just be another coach that takes us the last step.

Of course he is. That is why its a "buy-out" rather than a "pay-out". I'm sure you UK fans are familiar with "pay-outs" aren't you. You had to "pay-out" Hal Mumme a cool million bucks to go away. In fact, has any UK coach ever bought out their contract to go to another job?

It was reported in the Enquirer in Cincy before I read the ESPN story. The story was pointing out that it was Petrino's request that it be added into his contract.
